Robert Jackson: multi-faceted artist living in Melbourne's west.

He has been active for over 30 years in the fields of music, performance and visual arts. His inspiration comes from the landscape, history, geology and community of his local area. He is an active community artist.

In 2010 he won the inaugural Westpac Sunshine Art Prize, and in 2011 he was King of Brimbank Festival.

Painting

Coming from an artistic family, Robert has been painting since childhood. He has been an active muralist in his locality and has produced work for schools, and community centres.

Music

His main instruments are guitar and saxophone. His primary project is the Legless Lizards. He also plays a number of others: computer, didgeridoo, sitar, various flutes and whistles, bass, keyboards and a few homemades. He studied composition at the VCA and Improvisation with Al Wunder. He continues to write extensively and explore all aspects of music theory and practice.
